Summer Fun

Becca and her family came into town like I said they would, Adam and I went to a movie like I said I wanted to, Dane and Nikki got married and had a fabulous reception and I went swimming like I said I wanted to, however, the Buffingtons weren't able to come with us, this time. I am determined to have a gathering at our pool this week.

Adam, Sam (my little brother) and I did go to the pool and had a dandy time. I took pictures of all their cool tricks.
This was my favorite part. The doggy paddle race. They kinda looked like otters swimming with their heads above the water. So cute. So fun.

The Weekend

Yay! The weekend is finally (almost) here!! It is a pretty full weekend. I'm excited

Tonight Adam and I are probably, hopefully going to see a movie at the theater.

Adams older sister and her family are also coming into town. Yay! I love their family and can't wait to spend time with them. (This picture is not really accurate... sorry)

While their family is here, we are going to all go to the pool at Adams apartment. I'm hoping to do this tomorrow afternoon. It sounds SO good right now. I might bring my little brother to play with us too. It will be fun.

My sister is coming home from EFY and there is a good chance I will be picking her up. It will be nice to see her again. I've missed her this past week.

After the pool I will be going to my cousin Dane's wedding reception. Yay for them! I'm so excited for them.

Then church on Sunday and double Sunday dinner. Yay for the weekend and a much needed break.

Dress Shopping

Adam is out of town this week, so I'm getting as much planning done as I can. I think I'm doing pretty well for being engaged less than a week. Today I am getting off work early and going dress shopping in Salt Lake. I went a little yesterday and the few shops that were open past 6. This is definitely a fun part of planning (I actually love all parts of it so far :D). I think, subconsciously, I am going to make the dress part take as long as possible because I love feeling like a pretty princess. This is not the dress I am getting, but it's still pretty, maybe i'll try it on today :)
If any one has suggestions on where to go and where not to go, that would be fabulous!

Finally Engaged!

I must confess, I created this blog a few weeks ago because I am just so excited to be "Adam and Erin Miner" and to be able to have a blog. I haven't been able to let myself post until now because it just didn't feel right to post as "Erin Miner" until it was closer to being official. So what better story to start out our blog than our engagement story.

This weekend we went up to Bear Lake with Adams family. We had lots of fun. We took the Kayak out on the lake, very cold but a fun five minutes. Originally we were going to stay until Saturday, but some plans fell through and we all ended up leaving on Friday. His family left earlier in the day and Adam and I spent the rest of the day relaxing and driving around the lake. We went to the very north end of the lake. We took pictures, hugged, watched the sun as it got lower. I was thinking "what a perfect time for him to propose..." but I knew it wasn't going to be this weekend because of the things he was saying and he was still asking my opinion on ring types. Oh well, I could live with a couple more weeks... Then we got back in the car and went back to pack up our stuff.

We decided to take the Logan rout home because it's prettier than the Evanston way. As we got started, I found a spider in the car and started to freak out a little bit. Adam, being the sweet, kind, caring person that he is, pulled over at the over look to find it for me. He got the spider out with out killing it. What a good guy :). Then we got out of the car to look at the view. It was gorgeous! The sun was setting, the lake was blue, the sky was blue. It was perfect. He hugged me and told me that it was a couple years ago at this spot that he really started to realize that he wanted me to be his wife. I agreed and hugged him tighter. He said that today he wanted me to be his wife more than ever before. Then he was down on one knee and said "Erin Elizabeth Buxton, Will you marry me?" I said yes and hugged him tighter than ever. It was perfect. The moment was perfect. The place was perfect. He was perfect.

Now for the thoughts through the whole thing. While he was saying all the right, perfect, romantic things, I was thinking "you punk. you can't say these romantic perfect things and not have a ring and propose!" He did so good at making me think that he still hadn't gotten the ring. Then when he got down on his knee and pulled out a ring, I didn't believe him at first. 1. because he made me believe he didn't have one and second because the ring was gold, 3 stoned and had a topaz main stone. 3 things I said I wasn't a huge fan of. But it was really pretty. Turns out he just got the ugliest ring he could find. It was prettier on than off. I was still in shock and didn't believe it was real until we were driving away. He asked me if I could wait for him to get a real diamond. I then thought that he just wanted to be able to tell people we were engaged so that they would get off our backs and i would get off his ;) Then he told me that the ring was ready to be picked up, but we wouldn't make it back in time that night. The moment was more important than having the ring. He did it right. It was perfect. YAY!!!

The date is September 12 in the Salt Lake Temple. We will be together forever. I can't imagine being with any one else. He is mine forever :D

This is the over look where he proposed.

yay!! this is the ring!! Adam picked it out all by himself. He picked the perfect one if I do say so myself. :D

This is a bad picture of the ring he proposed with . He picked the ugliest one he could find. Once I put it on it it actually looked really nice

We stopped at the Logan temple on the way home.

The first three people that knew we were engaged were some very excited older people. We had them take a picture for us.

Adam looking super cool at the temple.

This is the last picture of us as an un-engaged couple. Too bad the sun was so bright and made me squint so hard.

This is just before we went out on the lake in the kayak

Adam tried so hard to get the kite to fly, but it was too gusty and it wouldn't stay up.

Our kayak. it's a lot of fun.

This is us at the North end of the lake.
